Epilogue – To the days of Sorrow and Joy – To the names of Fate and Faith


The bell rung and finally school was over. It was a sunny day on Kovomaka. Little walls of clouds formed in the blue sky and birds were singing their songs to the trees. The grass was lush and green. Students finally had made it through the last year of their school time. Now life awaited them with open arms. Still for some pupils all seemed like a dream and far from what is meant to be the end of an old chapter and a start for a new one.

A group of six students gathered on top of a hill, far away from the eyes of teachers and other students. The tree had filled with beautiful white flowers. Pure and pretty in the eyes of these six. "Three years...", one of the girls sighed and brushed her long brown hair down. She carried a book under her arm and smiled with sea blue eyes gazing upon the tree. The biggest of the boys, a guy with red hair and a long scar running over his left cheek yawned relaxed. "Ahhh! Well, we don't get younger, do we?" He smirked slightly and looked up, "But it really feels like so far away. "Well, it's not that far, but it sure feels odd... Like a dream...", a lizard said and laughed. His scales were deep green and he had some sort of forest charm bound to his long red hair. He waved his tail over the grass and enjoyed the calm wind coming from the west. A rabbit girl just laughed at the two: "Well, at least none of us changed really badly." She stroke her very long ears over the shoulders and sniffed at the flowers above her head. Two of the students stood aside from the other four. The two gazed upon the tree and seemed to remember. The girl with the long, curly hair smiled. Her violet eyes spied into the past. She sighed slightly and let the wind carry her thoughts. The robot, who stood right next to her, placed his servo on her shoulder. He looked at her with this one bright red light coming from its optic. "So what you guys plan now?", the brown haired girl asked the others. "I'm going to travel around space! I want to make a name for myself!", the red haired boy told them confident. "I'm going to stay here.", the rabbit said, "I think of becoming a teacher here at Will-o'-Wisp academy." "I'm going to Gren and keep the forest lush and beautiful.", the lizard said, "Maybe I even go to be guardian and keeper of the great tree Yggsalad." The brown haired girl smirked at them all. "Well, I'm going to Puffoon and try myself at police work." "As long as you don't end up crazy like Kale.", the blond girl laughed teasing. "Haha. Very funny. So what about you two? Any plans?", she asked. The robot and the girl looked at each other and both seemed to smile. They turned back to the others. "It's not important what comes in the future...but what we want to do now.", she explained, "I want to pray... ...for those of the past..." The group smiled at each other and everyone folded their hands for prayer. The blond girl closed her eyes and spoke it firmly and with purity of heart. "Gods above us and beneath our feet. Hear us praying once more to you, for this is our last prayer together... Please forgive those who wronged the people, those who failed to see and failed to stop... Forgive those who unleashed evil for those were wronged themselves and suffered eternal. Take them to your side. Take them with you to heaven so that they may see their loved ones and their friends again... Show mercy and forgiveness as we have forgiven them at last..." The children felt a touch of someone on their shoulders. All turned around together as if it tapped them all at the same time. They smiled and laughed as they realized, this was the last thanks of the past.


"It's been long... Hickory finally found peace at the side of his friends, his family... . This alone makes me happy. Pico became a known hero in our little system. Chai returned to Gren and kept the forest and the tree healthy. We often visit him there. Lassi decided to stay and became one of the best teachers on the school. Sometimes I think she's even better than Miss Madeleine was when she was our tutor. Sorbet became one of the best officers in the Space Police. She takes her work very serious, but she stopped being gloomy all the time. Me and Mokka? We stayed together. We became explorers and write a book about the history of the Baklava system. It's a real thick one... . We travel all over the system and dig for ruins and stuff. We even wrote many pages about Hickory and try to clean his name. Mokka and I married and celebrated it on Razen alongside the pot folk and the dwarves. Many of our old friends came. Our rocket Neumann is now our home and there is no place we can't go. But sometimes I wonder if there could be more awaiting outside of Baklava. Maybe someday...we will know..."
